About the role
This is a key role within our clients UK''s Finance back office team and is responsible for the overseeing the credit control of one of the groups brands and also managing and supporting the credit control function for the group and other two brands. This role has oversight and responsibility for all aspects of Accounts Receivable management. This is a responsible role, that will function in a small team, and act as the credit controller for a combined debt ledger ledger that exceeds -60m and sole focus on debt management for our client (-30m debt)
The Credit Control Supervisor will lead the Company''s credit control function, overseeing two team members to ensure the timely collection of receivables, reduction of overdue debt, and effective cash flow management. This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and process improvement skills to drive efficiency and maintain excellent customer relationships.
The person employed in this role has to have the utmost integrity, and a very clear eye for detail. This is a responsible position, where deadlines and accuracy is fundamental to the role. The successful applicant needs to be comfortable with handling a busy role, whilst ensuring accuracy and diligence, whilst maintaining internal relations in a professional way.
Key areas of responsibility:
Lead and manage UK Group credit control team
Responsibility for UK group debtor management
Day to Day Credit Control
New customer set up
Credit note processing
Cash Allocation - Daily
Issue resolution / Account item management.
Managing Returns credits and claims
Managing credit insurance, credit insurance relationships and policy renewal
Turnover declarations to credit insurer
Query Resolution
Quarterly customer Credit Limit reviews
Manage credit risk accounts and recommend for legal action or write off
Finance Customer File Management
Monthly statement production and distribution.
Monthly balance sheet controls reconciliation.
Month end reporting as required.
Price book management.
Manage Auditor requests during year end.
Other ad hoc tasks as required.
Essential Experience required:
- Proven experience within a similar role; including managing a team
- Strong relationship management experience
- Prior experience Managing credit insurance, credit insurance relationships and policy renewal
- Strong MS office Skills and experience of major accounting packages / system
- Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of all the above responsibilities
Desirable Experience required:
- Previous experience working within a Group of companies
- Previous FMCG Manufacturing experience
