Fitch Ratings is seeking an Analyst to join the European ABS Team based in London. Fitch’s European Structured Finance team maintains existing ratings and assigns ratings to new structured finance transactions. Fitch currently rates transactions across four main asset classes: Asset Backed Securities, Residential Mortgage Backed Securities, Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities, and Structured Credit. Fitch Ratings maintains surveillance on over 1,500 European structured finance transactions.What We Offer

Implement cash flow modellingReview transaction legal documentsConduct on-site reviews of underwriting and servicing practices of originatorsPrepare rating proposals for presentation to internal rating committeesCommunicate rating rationale to investors and other market participants through presale reports, presentations, research and meetingsCommunicate with transaction arrangers and originators to understand asset characteristics and structural features of the transactionsSupport the development of criteria and supporting researchWhat You Need to Have

High motivation with a strong desire to perform credit analysisBe highly numerate and analytical, with a high level of proficiency in using Excel (candidates will be asked to complete an Excel test)Strong written and oral communication skills in EnglishAbility to review, understand and analyse legal transaction documents from a credit risk perspective (no formal legal experience required)Analytical thinker who can apply methodologies appropriately and insightfully in reaching structured decisions. Case study will feature in a later stage of the interview process.Team player who can work collaboratively as part of a multi-cultural team with members in multiple locationsStrong attention to detailWhat Would Make You Stand Out

Relevant experience in credit analysis acquired at an accountancy firm, bank, consultancy, rating agency, specialist lender or trustee.Ideally direct experience in securitisation or origination of consumer assets (auto leases / loans, unsecured loans, credit card receivables)Other backgrounds will be considered, provided the candidate can demonstrate sufficient aptitude in the behaviours and skills detailed herein with clear motivation to work in Structured Finance at Fitch RatingsIntellectually curious and inquisitive, with a willingness to challenge precedentFluency in other European languagesStrong organisational skills in completing and prioritising workWhy Fitch?
