Hours: 08:30 to 15:30

This is a unique opportunity to use your creativity to support pupils with a range of needs, including autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, and other additional learning needs (ALN).

As a Creative Arts Assistant, you’ll work across both mainstream and specialist settings, helping young people express themselves, develop confidence, and engage in learning through art, music, drama, and other creative approaches. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for the arts and a desire to make a meaningful impact on children’s emotional and educational development.

You’ll need to be calm, resilient, and adaptable, with the confidence to support pupils in a variety of classroom settings. Your creativity and ability to connect with learners will be key in building positive relationships and supporting their wellbeing and progress.

  • Experience working with children or young people in educational or creative settings

  • An understanding of how to support learners with ALN, including SEMH and autism

  • A caring, patient, and nurturing approach to behaviour and learning support

  • The ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff

  • A positive attitude and a genuine enthusiasm for helping pupils thrive

Desirable but not essential:

  • A background in art, music, drama or a related creative subject

  • Experience in ALN bases, pupil referral units, or alternative provision settings

What We Offer

As a Creative Arts Assistant, you will benefit from:

  • Competitive daily rates paid weekly via PAYE

  • A guaranteed pay scheme (subject to availability)
