Crane Supervisor/Appointed Person

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Crane Supervisor / Appointed Person to join our team. You will be responsible for planning, supervising, and safely executing lifting operations in line with industry standards and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan lifting operations in accordance with LOLER and BS 7121 standards
• Prepare detailed lift plans and risk assessments
• Act as the Appointed Person (AP) for complex lifting operations
• Supervise crane activities on-site to ensure safety and compliance
• Coordinate with site managers, operators, and lifting teams
• Ensure all lifting equipment is certified and fit for purpose
• Conduct toolbox talks and enforce health & safety procedures
• Monitor and manage lifting operations to prevent incidents

Requirements

• Valid CPCS / NPORS Crane Supervisor qualification
• Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) certification (e.g., CPCS A61)
• Proven experience in crane supervision and lift planning
• Strong knowledge of LOLER regulations and BS 7121
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work under pressure and make critical decisions

Desirable

• SMSTS or SSSTS certification
• Experience working on major construction or infrastructure projects
• First Aid certification
