Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced CPCS-certified Soil Stabilizer Operator to join our groundwork and infrastructure team operating in the Greater Manchester region. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating Wirtgen soil stabilizer machinery, contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of ground improvement and sub-base preparation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate Wirtgen Soil Stabilizers (e.g., WR 240, WR 250) in line with project requirements.
Prepare and treat ground using lime or cement stabilisation techniques as directed by site engineers.
Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance to ensure machine readiness.
Accurately follow site drawings, levels, and method statements.
Collaborate with site managers, engineers, and ground workers to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Maintain compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and company standards.
Complete relevant documentation and machine logs daily.
Assist with setup and shutdown procedures of equipment and site when required.
Requirements:
Valid CPCS A71 (Soil Stabiliser) ticket is essential.
Previous experience operating Wirtgen soil stabilisers or similar machines.
Strong understanding of soil stabilisation processes and materials (e.g., lime/cement mixing).
Full UK driving licence (preferred).
Ability to work as part of a team and follow detailed instructions.
Flexibility to travel to different sites across Greater Manchester and surrounding areas.
Desirable:
SSSTS or SMSTS (for supervisory roles).
NPORS certification (as secondary competency).
Experience on large-scale infrastructure or highway projects.
First Aid at Work certificate.
