Cover Teacher

Smile Education are currently recruiting for a confident and adaptable Secondary Cover Teacher to work across secondary schools in Telford and the surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher or Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking for flexible work, whether you''re interested in daily cover, short-term placements or longer-term opportunities. You''ll deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects, helping students stay engaged and continue their learning.
You''ll work in supportive secondary schools where positive relationships, high expectations and effective behaviour management are key to creating a productive learning environment.
The RoleAs a Secondary Cover Teacher, you''ll cover lessons during teacher absences, follow the work provided and ensure students remain focused and on task. You''ll confidently manage different year groups and follow each school''s behaviour policies.
Key Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of secondary subjects.
• Maintain a positive and purposeful classroom environment.
• Manage student behaviour in line with school policies.
• Encourage students to engage with and complete their work.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff where required.
• Build positive relationships with students and colleagues.

We''re Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
• Experience teaching in UK secondary schools.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confidence teaching across different subjects where required.
• A flexible, reliable and proactive approach.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people''s learning.
