Cover Teacher (Secondary School) - Taunton

Full-Time | Temp to Perm | Monday to Friday | 08:30am - 4:00pm

Pay: -14.25 - -16.68 per hour

Prospero Teaching is seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Taunton on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers, experienced cover supervisors, graduates considering a career in education, or qualified teachers looking for a varied role. You will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects, ensuring students remain engaged and on task while maintaining a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-prepared lessons across different secondary school subjects.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively.
• Ensure students remain focused and engaged in their learning.
• Follow school policies and procedures.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student participation and progress.
• Build positive relationships with staff and pupils.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience working with young people in an educational, coaching, mentoring or support capacity.
• Be confident managing groups of students.
• Possess strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Be adaptable and comfortable covering a variety of subjects.
• Hold a valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
• Have the right to work in the UK.
