Tradewind Education is seeking enthusiastic, reliable and confident Cover Supervisors to work in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Retford.

We have a variety of opportunities available, including day-to-day, short-term and long-term cover roles, supervising students across a range of secondary subjects. You do not need to be a qualified teacher for this role, making it an ideal opportunity for aspiring teachers, graduates or individuals with experience working with young people.

• Supervise classes across a variety of secondary subjects, following lesson plans and work set by the absent teacher.
• Ensure students remain on task, engaged and focused on completing the work provided.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining a positive, safe and productive learning environment.
• Distribute lesson materials and provide clear instructions to students.
• Respond to students'' questions and offer appropriate support to help them complete their work.
• Follow the school''s behaviour policies, procedures and expectations at all times.
• Report any concerns regarding student behaviour, progress or wellbeing to the appropriate member of staff.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and report any issues as required.
• Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare of all students.
• Build positive, professional relationships with students and staff while contributing to the smooth running of the school day.

• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable, although candidates with transferable skills and a genuine interest in education are encouraged to apply.
• Strong classroom management skills and the confidence to supervise secondary-aged students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A calm, patient and professional approach when managing challenging situations.
• The ability to follow instructions, work independently and adapt to different classroom environments.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a classroom effectively.
• A positive attitude, reliability and a flexible approach to work.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Willingness to complete the necessary pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check where required.
