The Role
A secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to join the school from September 2026 on a long-term supply basis.
The successful candidate will supervise KS3 and KS4 classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged with the work that has been set and maintaining a positive and productive learning environment. While this is not a teaching role, you will play an important part in supporting students' learning and upholding the school's high standards of behaviour and achievement.
You will supervise lessons across a range of curriculum subjects, manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies, provide support and guidance where appropriate, and report back to teaching staff on student progress and conduct.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience working with secondary-aged students, ideally in a school or educational setting
- Be confident managing classes across KS3 and KS4
- Possess excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Be organised, adaptable, and able to work across a variety of subject areas
- Be committed to maintaining high standards of behaviour and supporting student learning
- Hold a degree or relevant educational experience (desirable but not essential)
