Supply Desk is currently recruiting for a full-time Cover Supervisor to join a well-regarded secondary school in Portsmouth. This opportunity is ideal for individuals seeking to build a career in education, with the possibility of securing a permanent contract for the right candidate.

Role Overview

The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising classes across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, covering a variety of subjects including Maths, History, and Geography. You will be expected to manage classroom behaviour effectively and ensure continuity of learning in the absence of the regular teacher.

This position is suitable for non-qualified teachers who have recent experience in a similar role. A degree is required, and prior experience working within a secondary school setting is highly desirable.

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for individuals who:

  Demonstrate strong classroom management skills

• 
  

  Possess a sound understanding of the secondary curriculum

  Are confident teaching across KS3 and KS4

• 
  

  Can adapt to teaching multiple subjects; a subject specialism is advantageous

• 
  

  Are professional, reliable, and possess excellent communication skills

• 
  

  Hold QTS, are registered with the GTC, or have relevant teaching experience

• 
  

  Are willing to work in schools with varying behavioural challenges

• 
  

  Have an active DBS registered on the Update Service
