Pay: £100 – £115 per day

We are seeking a proactive and reliable Cover Supervisor to join a secondary school in the Portsmouth area. This is a fantastic opportunity for both experienced Cover Supervisors and those looking to take their first steps into teaching.

You will play a vital role in ensuring continuity of learning by delivering pre-set work and maintaining a positive and focused classroom environment in the absence of the class teacher.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials in the absence of the teacher
• Supporting students with their learning and understanding of tasks
• Supervising individuals and small groups, adapting support where needed
• Monitoring and reporting on student progress and behaviour
• Supporting literacy and numeracy development across subjects
• Assisting with classroom activities when cover is not required
• Maintaining a calm, safe and productive learning environment

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong literacy and numeracy skills
• GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in English, Maths and Science
• Experience working with young people (desirable)
• Confident classroom presence and behaviour management skills
• Flexible, positive and proactive approach
• Ability to support students with a range of needs and abilities
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
