The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences. Working with students aged 11 to 16 across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, you will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons in a variety of subjects. Your primary focus will be to ensure that students remain engaged, behave appropriately, and continue their learning in a structured environment.
Responsibilities include:
Supervising whole classes during short-term teacher absences.
Delivering lesson content prepared by the subject teacher across a range of subjects, including core areas like Maths, English, and Science, as well as Humanities and other subjects.
Managing classroom behaviour and applying school policies to ensure a calm and productive learning environment.
Supporting students with their learning when appropriate and answering questions related to the lesson content.
Reporting back to teaching staff regarding student engagement, behaviour, and any notable incidents.
