Cover Supervisor

We are looking for a confident, reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our school team. In this role, you will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain on task and follow the work that has been set.This is a great opportunity for someone with experience working with young people who wants to build further classroom experience in a supportive school environment.Key responsibilitiesSupervise classes using pre-prepared work left by the teacher.Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.Support students in completing tasks and staying engaged in learning.Respond to questions about instructions and lesson processes.Report back to teaching staff on pupil progress, behaviour and any issues arising during the lesson.Help maintain a safe, positive and productive learning environment.Follow school procedures for safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety.The ideal candidate will haveExperience working with children or young people, ideally in a school or education setting.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Good behaviour management and classroom presence.The ability to stay calm, organised and professional under pressure.A flexible and positive approach.Good standards of English and Maths.A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.DesirablePrevious experience as a Teaching Assistant, Cover Supervisor or in a similar role.A relevant Level 3 qualification or ..... full job details .....
