Cover Supervisor

Make a difference in the classroom

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming and supportive school in Waltham Forest.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and enjoys working with young people. You will play an important role in maintaining continuity of learning by supervising classes in the absence of their regular teacher and ensuring students remain focused, engaged and well behaved.

The role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

• Supervise classes across a range of subjects in the absence of teaching staff.
• Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure students complete the work provided.
• Maintain a positive, calm and purposeful learning environment.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school''s policies.
• Support students with their learning and encourage high standards of work and conduct.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student engagement and behaviour.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students at all times.
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school.

About you

We are looking for someone who is:

• Confident and comfortable leading a classroom.
• Passionate about supporting young people and their education.
• Calm, patient and able to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
• Organised, reliable and professional.
• An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently while also being a committed member of a team.
• Ideally experienced in a school, youth work or education setting, although applications from candidates with transferable experience are welcome.
