Cover Supervisor

About the Role
PK Education are currently recruiting for a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to work in secondary schools across Chesterfield. This role involves supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students stay on task and complete pre-set work.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals considering a career in education or those with experience working with young people in any setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 during teacher absence
• Ensure students remain focused and complete set work
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
• Support student engagement across a variety of subjects
• Report any issues or concerns to appropriate school staff
• Follow lesson plans provided by teaching staff

Requirements:

• Experience working with young people (e.g. schools, coaching, youth work)
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• Confident, adaptable, and professional approach
• Ability to build positive relationships with secondary-aged students
• Reliable with consistent availability
