Course and Learner Facilitator

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our Settlement & Resettlement Hub. This pivotal role supports learners throughout their educational journey, focusing on both pre- and post-learning stages within HMP Berwyn. Responsibilities include administering assessments, delivering academic guidance, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining learner records. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to fostering learner success, collaborating effectively with mentors, and using data to continuously enhance learning outcomes.
We have a great opportunity available to join Novus Cambria, our prison education provider at HMP Berwyn, working as Course and Learner Facilitator. This role is offered on a permanent full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.

HMP Prison Berwyn is a Category C prison in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. It accommodates a male population. It is the largest prison in the UK, opened in 2017, and is operated by His Majesty''s Prison Service. The prisons aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe at all times. The prison''s mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Hold a minimum L3 qualification in relevant subject specific area
- Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
- To hold or commit to gain an Internal Verifier award within 1 year (dependent upon course accreditation requirements)
- Have experience in the relevant vocational area
- Experience within a similar role
- Have a recent track record of effective delivery in subject specialism
- Experience of working within a prison, further education or training setting
Main responsibilities include:
- Provide Learners with advice and guidance around access to Higher Learning - e.g., The Open University
- Be able to carry out all duties involved with the administration and delivery of digital based exams, e.g., exam invigilator training
- Be able to carry out marking and provide appropriate feedback to Learners from a range of courses e.g., AIM Awards, Agored units
- Be able to carry out data analysis around the performance of the learning that is taking place and make objective decisions about outcomes
- Be prepared to support individuals with their learning so they have a full and meaningful experience
- Be prepared to undertake any further training which is deemed as necessary to provide the Learners with up-to-date information and guidance
- Organise and liaise with Mentors
- Ensure that accurate records are kept concerning the progress of Learners
