To develop and manage access, recreation, facilities, and natural habitats of the Countryside Sites by contributing to, as examples:

• Managing the health and safety of Council staff, visitors, and contractors.
• Applying good practice conservation techniques and facilities management services.
• Managing annual operational facilities and nature conservation work programmes.
• Identifying opportunities for income generation and external funding and supporting their delivery.

To plan and organise the enhancement of the biodiversity value of the Countryside Sites by assisting in:

• Preparing and implementing management plans for Countryside Sites.
• Applying the Derbyshire’s Local Nature Recovery Strategy, and its associated funding opportunities, to appropriate Countryside Sites.
• Working in close partnership with Derbyshire’s nature conservation sector.
