Costs Negotiator
An established award-winning law firm, specialising in personal injury and clinical negligence claims, is looking for a Costs Negotiator to join its busy costs team.The Role You will manage a fixed costs caseload, review disputes, negotiate settlements, and prepare cases for summary or detailed assessment. The role also involves drafting letters, Costs Schedules, Part 23 Applications, Part 8 Proceedings, skeleton arguments, and submissions, as well as liaising with fee earners and management.Key ResponsibilitiesManage caseloads, WIP, and fee targets.Review and negotiate fixed costs cases.Prepare cases for assessment hearings and attend when required.Provide technical support and guidance to the costs team.Maintain the highest standards of client care.Person SpecificationKnowledge of fixed costs claims, CPR procedures, Pre-Action Protocols, and relevant case law.2-5 years'' experience handling cases to target.Strong communication, time management, and IT skills (Proclaim, Excel, Cost Master desirable).Professional, commercially aware, and able to work under pressure.Advocacy experience at costs hearings is desirable but not essential.Salary and Hours£30,000-£40,000 depending on experience.Excellent career development opportunities, including training contracts or support towards ACL qualification. ..... full job details .....
