Costs Draftsperson / Costs Lawyer

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Costs Draftsperson / Costs Lawyer to join their London, Greater London office. This is an excellent opportunity for a specialist costs professional with strong legal aid experience, particularly within family law, to join a well-established and growing team.The successful candidate will play a key role in maximising cost recovery, managing complex legal aid billing matters, and supporting colleagues with technical costs advice and best practice.The Role• Preparing and submitting legal aid bills, including fixed fee, exceptional case and high-cost case claims• Managing CCMS submissions and ensuring compliance with Legal Aid Agency requirements• Preparing and submitting supporting documentation and cost bundles• Drafting interim and final private client bills of costs• Advising on costs recovery strategies and negotiating costs settlements• Serving bills in accordance with procedural requirements and costs protocols• Liaising with fee earners, counsel, chambers and third parties regarding costs recovery• Monitoring recoverable disbursements and ensuring claims are submitted promptly• Supporting file closure processes and related administration• Providing guidance and training to colleagues on costs matters and best practice• Keeping up to date with developments in legal aid funding and costs legislationThe Candidate• Minimum 1 years'' experience as a Costs Draftsperson or Costs Lawyer• Strong background in legal aid costs, ideally ..... full job details .....
