Westlakes Recruit are pleased to be recruiting for a Cost Systems Engineer to support a major nuclear new build project. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-profile programme driving the UK''s transition to low-carbon energy.
In this role, you''ll take ownership of EcoSys (the Cost Management System), managing system updates, reporting, and cost alignment activities to ensure accurate project controls and performance insights.
We''re looking for someone with proven experience in cost and change management within large-scale infrastructure projects, strong technical skills, and the confidence to deliver clear reporting and training to project teams.
Key Responsibilities
Configure and manage EcoSys updates and reporting processes
Develop and maintain Work and Cost Breakdown Structures, including P6-driven coding
Align project costs to scope and scheduled activities
Support cost monitoring standards, reporting, and data analysis
Prepare cost studies using historical data and statistical analysis
Provide simplified training and support system assurance activities
Drive digital solutions that add value to project delivery
About You
Essential:
Degree (or equivalent) in business analysis, finance, engineering, project management, or related field
Proven experience with EcoSys on major infrastructure projects
Strong understanding of cost and change management principles
Skilled in cost control, reporting, and Microsoft Office tools
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
Knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, and construction processes
Desirable:
- Experience with cost systems such as Prism, Cobra, Unifier, or Smartsheets
- Knowledge of Power BI and advanced Excel
- Understanding of NEC and FIDIC contracts
- Experience in nuclear or large-scale infrastructure projects
