Cost Manager and Senior Cost Manager - Central and Local Government

We are recruiting for Cost Managers to join our London based Communities and Local Government Cost Management Team, supporting projects across the central and local government sector.The team undertakes a wide variety of projects for notable public sector organisations such as refurbishment of listed buildings, office fit out projects, high volume residential projects and masterplanning commissions.Responsibilities

Leading the commercial delivery of a variety of projectsEstablishing friendly, professional and appropriate relationships with clients, colleagues and other parties involved in the projects and programmes we supportCost Management of a variety of contracts in accordance with project objectives and policiesProviding accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting to completion in line with budgetPro-actively monitoring and managing cost variance and contract cash flow, and ensuring that applications are made correctly and in a timely mannerCollaborating with client and contractor teams to manage the delivery of project deliverables, KPIs, and objectives, including programme performance, cost control, and value engineeringManaging contract change effectively, ensuring that projects remain within governance and adopt best practiceDriving improvements in the accuracy of forecasts and budgetsProactively providing sound commercial knowledge and support to all stakeholdersEnsuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreedManaging, supporting and mentoring junior staff membersQualifications

A proven track record of delivering high quality cost management/quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycleDegree or HNC level qualificationProfessionally qualified is desired (MRICS or similar)Ability to successfully manage and prioritise more than one project at a timeExcellent communication with stakeholdersA wide variety of project experience gained over at least 5 yearsContract Management (JCT and/or NEC forms of contract)Cost ManagementChange management and controlValuationRisk ManagementProcurementCost Planning/EstimatingReportingCollaborative approach and best-for-project attitudeSharing best practicePeople managementCommission managementIdentifying and driving efficiencies and improvements through the project lifecycleGood knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management and value engineeringAdditional Information
