An investment developer specializing in PBSA and BTR developments is urgently seeking a

Cost Consultant

or

Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS)

to join their busy team across the UK.

The company is a renowned specialist in PBSA and BTR, backed by significant resources, with the ability to acquire sites that meet financial criteria. They operate a contracting arm, but are not obliged to use it unless competitive. They have a proven track record in delivering PBSA and BTR schemes nationwide and are recognized in construction, infrastructure, and investment sectors.

The role involves cost management of main contractors tendering for building works on these schemes. Experience in consultancy or cost management, specifically managing main contractors during construction, is essential. Knowledge of pre-construction, front-end cost management, managing cost consultants, and high-level cost planning is required.

Responsibilities include analyzing basic drawings, advising on costs, appraising, consolidating contracts, and procurement where necessary. Most contracts are JCT design and build, with some bespoke contracts.

Projects are turnkey, fully furnished, with values ranging from £30m to £50m.

The ideal candidate will have cost consultancy experience, with proven management of main contractors from a cost perspective. Keen, knowledgeable, and capable of transitioning to client-side roles are preferred, especially for those without client-side experience.
