We are seeking a credit professional with knowledge of corporate financial analysis and underwriting to join this leading local employer.
This position will be a key role in the lending decisions across the group, with funding requests ranging from -250k-250m. Carrying out financial performance analysis, identifying potential risks, providing guidelines and recommendations to substantiate or decline sound lending decisions, and ensure sustainable business growth.
Taking into account the above points, we are therefore seeking someone who can combine strong analytical skills with sound commercial judgement.
Some of the key responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out detailed financial analysis and prepare credit reviews and lending recommendations.
- Review and assess underwriting submissions within delegated authority.
- Analyse MI to identify early warning signals, risk indicators and adverse trends.
- Recommend appropriate review frequencies and stock audit controls.
- Review financial information and escalate concerns where appropriate.
- Ensure relevant processes comply with SOX, Anti-Money Laundering and GDPR requirements.
- Provide guidance and expertise on credit, financial analysis, underwriting and facility approval to colleagues across the business.
- Support the management of funding facilities, current accounts, term loans and mortgages.
Givens:
- Previous experience of financial analysis and underwriting for corporate customers
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including: VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPs, PivotTables, Macros
- Basic PowerPoint and Power BI skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
- Confidence to constructively challenge existing processes and ways of working.
- An interest in using technology and data tools to improve analysis and decision-making.
- Strong attention to detail and sound judgement.
- An understanding of the importance of governance, risk management and appropriate controls.
