We also recruit for Social Care and Public Sector roles. We are currently recruiting for an experienced Cook for a residential setting to work for our client based in Islington and surrounding areas. Duties and Responsibilities of a Cook: Prepare, cook, and serve nutritious, balanced meals in line with set menus. Cater for special dietary requirements (e.g. diabetic, vegetarian, allergen-free, soft diets). Ensure meals are prepared on time and meet quality and portion standards. Assist in planning varied and appealing menus that meet nutritional guidelines. Take into account residents preferences, cultural, and religious needs. Adapt menus where necessary based on feedback or dietary changes. Follow all food hygiene and safety regulations (e.g. HACCP, Food Safety Act). Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and storage areas. Ensure safe food handling, storage, and temperature control procedures. Comply with infection control and health and safety policies. Monitor food stock levels and place orders as required. Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO) and minimise waste. Check deliveries and ensure quality and correct storage. Maintain accurate records (e.g. temperature logs, cleaning schedules, delivery checks).
