Job Title: Controls Engineer
Location: Stourbridge
Salary: Circa -50,000

Controls Engineer required for an automation and software solutions company based in Stourbridge. The role will involve working on warehouse automation, conveyor and materials-handling projects, including PLC control, electrical panels, sensors, motors and integration with higher-level software systems.

Controls Engineer Responsibilities

• Design, build, commission and support industrial automation systems.
• Work on warehouse automation, conveyor and materials-handling projects.
• PLC control work plus hands-on electrical/control involvement (panels, sensors, motors, VFDs).
• Fault-find electrical and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Carry out testing, commissioning and customer-site support.
• Support integration of PLC systems with higher-level software systems where required.

Controls Engineer Requirements

• Good practical experience programming Siemens PLCs, particularly S7-1200 and/or S7-1500.
• Strong working knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal.
• Experience with other PLC platforms would be beneficial, such as Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron or Schneider.
• Experience designing, building, wiring or modifying industrial electrical control panels.
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with industrial sensors, photoelectric sensors, encoders, relays, contactors, motors and VFDs.
• Experience fault-finding electrical and PLC-controlled equipment.

Controls Engineer Salary

• Salary- Circa -50,000 (negotiable, dependent on candidate experience)
