Controls and Instrumentation Design Engineer

to lead in the technical design of substation and BESS Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.You’ll take a leading role on a variety of SCADA engineering and design activities in support of various power projects, including substation modernization and BESS integration. The role can be based in our

Glasgow or London

office 3 days per week with flexibility to work from home 2 days.#LI-JF1Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the project team to generate engineering design documents and deliverables (drawings, points lists, configuration files, etc.) for systems and components related to the substation and BESS SCADA systems.Oversight of lower-level engineering work or assignments.Conceptual and detailed design of SCADA hardware, networking equipment, fibre networks, datalinks, Human Machine Interface (HMI) screens, and points lists.You may also support with quality assurance checking, specification writing, standards development, factory acceptance testing, cyber security auditing, and commissioning support at sites or remotely.Minimum QualificationsPrevious controls system design experience for power projects.Bachelor’s degree in EngineeringSignificant relevant work experience with proven ability to work independently and guide othersPreferred QualificationsMinimum of 5 years relevant Substation and BESS experienceExperience in developing control system network architecture diagrams, datalink points lists, control narratives, control logic diagrams, reading one-line diagrams, and procurement specifications for SCADA equipmentExperience with IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, OPC, and other control system protocolsExperience with VMware or other virtual environmentsExperience with protective relays, substation and BESS automation systemsExperience with HMI screen developmentExperience with UK NIS cyber security standardsNetwork troubleshooting skills and experience with network analysis tools such as WiresharkExcellent writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills.Registration as a Professional Engineer.BVH, Inc., its subsidiaries and its affiliated companies, complies with all Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) affirmative action laws and regulations.
