Salary: -45,000 - -65,000
Working Pattern: Full-time, on-site

We''re supporting a specialist automation business that designs and builds bespoke machinery for a broad range of manufacturing environments. Every project is different. The work is hands-on, varied and focused on getting complex automated systems running reliably in the real world.
You''ll join a commissioning and controls team responsible for taking machines from build completion through testing, commissioning and customer sign-off.
What you''ll be doing
- Programming and modifying PLC and HMI systems
- Commissioning automated machinery and production equipment
- Fault finding across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and controls systems
- Configuring servo drives, VFDs and motion control systems
- Supporting machine testing and performance improvements
- Working closely with design, build and project teams to solve technical issues
- Documenting modifications and commissioning activities
- Occasional travel to customer sites within the UK and overseas
What they''re looking for
- Experience within automation, special purpose machinery or machine building
- PLC programming experience using platforms such as Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi or similar
- Strong commissioning and fault-finding capability
- Understanding of HMIs, drives, motors and industrial networks
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Practical approach to problem solving
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a project team
Nice to have
- Robotics experience
- Motion control expertise
- Exposure to bespoke automated machinery
