Position: Control Panel Supervisor

Proactive are currently recruiting for an experienced Control Panel Supervisor to join an established engineering and manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day panel build activities, supporting technicians, maintaining quality standards and ensuring work is completed safely and within agreed timescales.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support a team working on the build and wiring of electrical control panels
  • Organise daily workloads and ensure work is progressing in line with production requirements
  • Read and work from electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation
  • Provide technical support to the team during assembly, wiring and testing activities
  • Carry out checks on completed work to ensure panels meet the required quality and workmanship standards
  • Assist with testing and fault-finding where required
  • Maintain relevant production and testing records
  • Liaise with engineering and production colleagues to resolve technical or scheduling issues
  • Identify opportunities to improve workshop processes, efficiency and quality
  • Support the training and development of less experienced members of the team


Skills:

  • Previous experience in electrical panel building, control systems, electrical assembly or a similar environment
  • Experience supervising, leading or mentoring technicians would be advantageous
  • Good understanding of electrical systems and components
  • Comfortable interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
  • Practical experience with panel wiring, assembly and testing
  • Good fault-finding and problem-solving ability
  • Familiarity with PLC/control equipment would be beneficial
  • Confident using standard hand and power tools
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Able to prioritise workloads and work effectively to deadlines
  • Proactive attitude with an interest in improving processes and supporting the wider team
