We are seeking an experienced EC&I Engineer to support maintenance, commissioning, and plant reliability onsite.

This is a hands-on technical role working within a modern mineral processing facility, supporting the continued development, commissioning, and operation of a major UK project.

Please note: successful candidates must complete a Drug and Alcohol test on their first day.

About the Role

As an EC&I Engineer, you will support the reliability, safety, and performance of the processing plant through electrical, control, and instrumentation maintenance activities.

You will be responsible for fault finding, planned maintenance, commissioning support, and ensuring plant systems operate safely and efficiently. You will work closely with operations teams, mechanical engineers, and contractors to minimise downtime and maintain production performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs
  • Fault find on electrical, instrumentation, and control systems
  • Work with PLCs, SCADA systems, VSDs, and motor control equipment
  • Diagnose faults using P&IDs, electrical drawings, and technical documentation
  • Carry out calibration, inspection, testing, and defect reporting
  • Support safe isolation procedures, permits to work, and risk assessments
  • Assist mechanical teams and external contractors when required
  • Maintain site electrical infrastructure, including power, lighting, and control systems
  • Support commissioning and improvement activities across the plant

Essential Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds qualification in Electrical, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years’ industrial maintenance experience
  • Strong fault-finding ability across electrical and control systems
  • Experience with 3-phase systems, motors, VSDs, and DOL starters
  • Knowledge of safe systems of work and permit-to-work procedures
  • Experience within mining, quarrying, manufacturing, processing, or heavy industry environments

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
  • 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification
  • Experience working with PLC and SCADA systems in industrial environments


Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £19.23–£21.63 per hour + 15% shift allowance
Shift Pattern: 11.5-hour shifts (5 on / 5 off / 4 on / 4 off)
