Contracts Manager

About you

You are an experienced Contracts Manager who is comfortable taking responsibility for multiple projects and keeping everything moving from start to finish.

You have probably managed projects in the £5m to £7m range and enjoy having plenty of responsibility rather than being micromanaged. Experience in industrial or commercial fit out would be ideal.

More importantly, you are driven. You are looking for a role where there is a genuine opportunity to progress, rather than simply taking another Contracts Manager position and doing the same thing for the next few years.

If becoming a Senior Contracts Manager within the next 12 to 18 months is something that would interest you, this could be worth a conversation.

Your experience

You will need solid experience as a Contracts Manager within construction, ideally with a background in industrial or commercial fit out.

You will have experience managing multiple projects at the same time, with project values of around £5m to £7m. You will be confident managing programmes, subcontractors, commercial performance, health and safety, quality and client relationships.

You will also understand what is required to run projects properly and have the confidence to make decisions when things do not go exactly to plan.

The key thing is that you are ambitious and want to progress. This is a role where your ability and attitude will be noticed.

What you will be doing with your experience

You will join a newly opened Glasgow office and take responsibility for managing multiple projects across the business.

You will oversee projects from pre construction through to completion, working closely with site teams, subcontractors, clients and the wider management team to make sure projects are delivered safely, commercially and to the required standard.

You will have a strong pipeline of work to get involved with, so this is not a case of joining a new office and waiting for the work to arrive.

You will also have the opportunity to establish yourself within the Glasgow operation and demonstrate that you have what it takes to progress into a Senior Contracts Manager position within your first 12 to 18 months.

About the business

The business is an established construction contractor with a turnover of around £65m and a growing presence in Scotland.

This is a newly opened Glasgow office, although the business already has a strong pipeline of work in place. You will therefore have the backing and workload of an established contractor while also having the opportunity to play an important part in developing the new Glasgow operation.

The role comes with a salary of up to £60,000 plus package, depending on your experience.
