Additional: Company Vehicle or Car Allowance of up to -1.2k per month

Are you an experienced Contracts Manager with a strong background in groundworks, civil engineering and residential housing, looking to take responsibility for a successful regional operation?
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Contracts Manager to join a well-established and growing civil engineering contractor, overseeing a busy portfolio of residential groundworks projects across the North region.
The region is currently performing strongly, with over 30 live sites, providing an excellent opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager to play a key role in the continued growth and delivery of the business.
The Role
As Contracts Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery and performance of multiple sites across the region. You will oversee site teams, subcontractors, labour, plant and materials, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards.
You will also work closely with the commercial and senior management teams, supporting client relationships and helping to maintain and develop long-term business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery and performance of multiple residential groundworks sites.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with agreed programmes.
- Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractor resources across the region.
- Regularly visit sites, providing support and guidance to Site Managers and teams.
- Monitor health & safety, quality, environmental and compliance standards.
- Work closely with the commercial team regarding costs, variations and unexpected works.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Ensure effective communication between site teams and the office.
- Support customer care and resolve issues efficiently.
- Mentor, develop and support Site Managers and other members of the team.
- Assist senior management with client development and maintaining existing relationships.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience as a Contracts Manager within residential groundworks or civil engineering, with a strong understanding of housing infrastructure and groundworks operations.
You will be an organised and confident leader with the ability to manage multiple live projects, develop strong client relationships and resolve issues effectively.
Ideally, you will have:
- Proven Contracts Management experience within groundworks/civil engineering.
- Strong experience within the residential housing sector.
- Good knowledge of foundations, infrastructure and groundworks.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of project costs.
- Strong knowledge of construction health & safety.
- Ability to manage multiple sites and priorities.
- Full UK driving licence.
