Salary: £75,000–£85,000 + Package

The Opportunity

An established and growing main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee a portfolio of construction projects across London and the Home Counties.

With a strong reputation for quality, client relationships and project delivery, the business undertakes a varied range of schemes across residential, commercial, education, healthcare and refurbishment sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware and delivery-focused Contracts Manager to join a forward-thinking contractor, taking ownership of multiple projects and working closely with senior leadership, site teams, clients and supply chain partners.

The Role

As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing multiple construction projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.
• Providing leadership, direction and support to Project Managers, Site Managers and wider site teams.
• Monitoring project programmes, costs, budgets and commercial performance.
• Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with health and safety legislation, quality standards and contractual requirements.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Overseeing procurement, subcontractor performance and supply chain management.
• Identifying and managing project risks, resolving issues and driving effective solutions.
• Attending progress meetings and reporting project performance to senior management.
• Ensuring appropriate project controls, documentation and reporting procedures are maintained.
• Driving continuous improvement and maintaining the company''s reputation for quality, professionalism and client satisfaction.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience working as a Contracts Manager within a main contracting environment.
• A strong track record of delivering multiple construction projects successfully.
• Experience across sectors such as residential, commercial, education, healthcare or refurbishment.
• Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to manage budgets, programmes and contractual obligations.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage project teams.
• A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach to project delivery.
• The ability to build trusted relationships with clients and supply chain partners.
• A strong understanding of health and safety, quality assurance and construction compliance.
• Relevant construction qualifications, such as an HNC, HND or degree, would be advantageous.
