The Contract Supervisor position in Teddington, based at Bushy Park, involves assisting the Contract Manager with daily operations across this historic landscape. You will oversee grounds maintenance, landscaping, and horticulture tasks, ensuring company policies and health and safety regulations are strictly followed. This temporary role offers an hourly rate between £16.82 and £17.70, dependent on experience, with working hours from 7.30am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday. About the role
We are seeking an experienced Supervisor to join our team at Bushy Park. Reporting directly into the Contract Manager you will assist with the day to day running of the contract. We are looking for an individual with strong all-round knowledge of grounds maintenance, landscaping and horticulture, together with leadership qualities who can assist management in implementing Company Policies and Practices and ensuring Handamp;S regulations are followed. You will have strong communication skills and be able to liaise with management at all levels to build and maintain excellent client relationships.
You will have the confidence and ability to challenge ideas as appropriate and will have the ability to guide and train others on horticultural practices.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will fall across several areas, including relationship building; client/customer care; people management and contract delivery. Some of the key responsibilities are detailed below:
- To assist in scheduling works and coordinate resources according to contract specifications and workload.
- To ensure teams are prepared in terms of tool and machinery requirements for all tasks for the day ahead (conducting safety checks, end of day equipment checks, and ordering of parts, materials, uniform and PPE when required).
- Build and maintain client relationships, creating a positive impression and demonstrating a proactive attitude, with attendance of weekly contract meetings with clients as needed.
- Strong People Management skills - mentor staff (including 121''s), monitor work progress and performance andamp; lead by example whilst working alongside
- Monitor time and attendance and the collation and processing of timesheets for payroll.
- Adhere to HR processes and procedures andamp; manage any employee relations issues with their support or passed to the operations manager/Contract Manager if necessary.
Requirements
- Previous supervisory experience within the grounds maintenance/landscaping industry is required.
- Full UK driving licence is essential, with Tractor Driving experience beneficial - required to load skips in the yard andamp; if needed to support with side arm edge cutting in the winter season.
- Strong communication, client management and IT literacy skills.
- Previous exposure to financial aspect/budgets and financial performance of contracts.
