Contract Firmware Engineer

The Redline Group has an urgent requirement for a Contract Firmware Engineer to support an innovative engineering business based in Cambridge. The company develops advanced safety technologies and is seeking an experienced contractor to support the development of a next-generation product currently entering the beta phase of development. This is a hands-on role focused on firmware development, hardware bring-up, peripheral integration and platform development, working closely with Senior Engineers on a dedicated new product development programme. Key Skills Required - Contract Firmware EngineerStrong Embedded C Firmware Development experienceSTM32 Bare-Metal Debug and Bring UpMicrocontroller Development (STM32, NXP, Renesas, Microchip or similar)Board Support Package (BSP) DevelopmentSerial Communications including SPI, I2C, UART and CAN This role is expected to start early October and last 5 months initially with potential for extension. The successful contractor will be required on-site in Dry Drayton, Cambridge, ideally 5 days per week. This role has an indicative OUTSIDE IR35 determination therefore we can accept candidates who would like to operate through their own PSC.
