Job Title: Contract Embedded Software Engineer Location: ReadingRate: £50 to £60 per hour Employment Type: Contract Working Arrangements: Hybrid workingI m looking for an experienced Contract Embedded Software Engineer to support the development and enhancement of bespoke test equipment. You ll be working at low level, writing efficient and reliable C code, and getting hands on with Linux systems, drivers, and hardware focused debugging.This role has an indicative outside IR35 determination, meaning we can accept candidates who wish to operate through their own Personal Service Company (PSC). What You ll Be Doing Developing low level embedded software in C Working on test equipment used for validation, diagnostics, and production Configuring and integrating Linux based systems Setting up, modifying, and troubleshooting Linux drivers Collaborating with hardware, test, and wider engineering teams What You ll Need Strong commercial experience in embedded C Solid background working with Linux in an embedded environment Proven ability to set up, configure, and debug Linux drivers Experience working close to hardware, test equipment, or similar environments For more information, please contact Cathy Swain.
