Project:The database is overwhelmingly write-driven (high-volume API request and ping logging). Years of growth andover-long retention have left it expensive to store and slow to query. Two issues dominate cost: a 4 TBrequest-log table whose space cannot be reclaimed by DELETE (InnoDB does not return it; OPTIMIZE TABLEwould lock the table for an unpredictable time), and a high IOPS bill from running the write-heavy cluster on Aurorastandard pricing.
