Consultant Psychiatrists - Adult Mental Health Inpatients

We are looking to recruit 2 full-time consultants to work on Elm Ward and Maple Ward, the two acute admission wards at West Park Hospital, Darlington.Ward details

Elm Ward is a female acute ward with 20 beds and provides inpatient care for assessment and treatment. Maple Ward is a male acute ward with 20 beds. Across the wards, 4 beds are commissioned by the Ministry of Defence. Each ward is covered by two Consultant Psychiatrists (total 4 WTE for the two acute wards) and is supported by a Consultant Nurse.Elm Ward and Maple Ward are located on the same site. The post holders are expected to provide clinical input to approximately 10 to 12 patients on both wards, depending on acuity. The inpatient units operate within the framework of the Purposeful In-Patient Admissions model and the Productive Ward initiative.Responsibilities

Provide leadership to the multi-disciplinary team alongside the team manager.Contribute to service development and clinical governance.Be responsible for setting and maintaining standards and demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement.Work flexibly with colleagues in Adult Mental Health to offer a recovery-oriented service for all service users.Context
