Consultant Psychiatrist - North West & Yorkshire

Overview
Consultant Psychiatrist — Permanent, full time with part-time hours negotiable (at least 3 days per week). Home based with travel to cover three hubs across the North West and Yorkshire. Must be a driver with access to a vehicle. Salary £165,000 – £200,000, FTE based on experience and pro rata for part-time hours.Responsibilities
Lead multi-disciplinary review monthly
of young people in residential care at Care in Mind residential homes; act as Responsible Clinician in accordance with MHA (amended 2007) and utilising Care Programme Approach.Medication management, risk assessment and review, MHA and Mental capacity assessments; maintain an overview of progress across all domains.Provide strong leadership and support in clinical care and risk management within a formulation-based MDT.Offer psychopharmacological management where needed; contribute to research and service development opportunities.Manage a shared caseload of 40-55 young people aged 16-30 in collaboration with the Lead Consultant.Work with a MDT that includes Nurse and Psychology input and a strong residential team; travel within one area per day.Support the transition to adult life for young people using a therapeutic, least restrictive approach in a non-secure community setting.Qualifications and Requirements
Fully Registered Medical PractitionerUK Registration with current GMC registration and revalidation; CCT (CAMHS/GA/Medical Psychotherapy/Forensic) or equivalent to apply; Eating Disorder or Liaison Endorsement/experience desirable.Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalentApproval under Sec 12 MHA 1983 / current Approved Clinician StatusExperience in working with young people (16-30) with self-harm, behavioral and emotional difficulties; strong base in psychiatric medical managementAbout Care In Mind
Care in Mind provides residential services for young people aged 16-30 who have been discharged from psychiatric inpatient stays or may have experienced placement breakdowns. The aim is to support young people using a therapeutic, least restrictive approach to live in a non-secure community setting and to achieve individual goals in preparation for transition to adult life. The service operates across the North West and Yorkshire; driving is kept to one area per day.Benefits
