Consultant Psychiatrist

We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our mental health team at HMP Gartree. HMP Gartree is a category B prison based in Market Harborough, housing around 650 patients. You will be working closely with the multidisciplinary team, including GPs and ACPs, to deliver psychiatric support to adult males mainly aged 28-50, most of whom have complex mental health and historic trauma needs.Job summary
Hours
20 hours per week across 2.5 days. We are happy to create a rolling rota (2 days one week, 3 the next) and are flexible which days are worked, Monday to Friday. We can also offer a full-time role if working across either HMP Stocken and HMP Gartree or HMP Five Wells.SalaryThis position is 20 hours per week; you’ll receive an annual salary up to £180,000 per annum FTE, depending on experience.How we will support you
You will be part of a team of 15 plus experienced and supportive Consultant psychiatristsYou will be able to attend monthly Consultant meetings and 1:1 clinical supervisionBespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training courseCompetency frameworkCandidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, your responsibilities will vary. Registered professional with current registration (GMC)Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic PsychiatryApproved under section 12 (2) of the MHS 1983Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency workingUp to date knowledge in adult psychiatry and PDAwareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislationJob description and person specification
