Overview

Consultant Psychiatrist - Neurodevelopmental Paediatrics at NHS North East London. Location: Child and Family Health Centre, 79 Axe Street, Barking, IG11 7LZ. Salary: £109,725 - £145,478 per annum. Contract: Substantive. Hours: Full-time, 10 Programmed Activities. On call responsibilities apply. Full GMC registration with a licence to practiseCCT or equivalentSection 12 Approval or eligibility for itApproved Clinician status, or eligibility for itInclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCSTResponsibilities

Organise and prioritise own and team workload in day-to-day allocation of work.Deputise in the team manager''s absence and delegate appropriately to other medical staff.Maintain knowledge of Trust protocols and procedures and adhere to them.Provide accurate records for audit purposes.Ensure effective risk management at team level, including incident reporting, risk assessment, and updating the Trust risk register with residual risks.Clinical Skills

Act as an autonomous, registered practitioner accountable for unsupervised actions within the professional code of conduct and Trust guidelines.Maintain full GMC registration with a licence to practise.Demonstrate ongoing professional development through accredited courses, workshops, study, and in-house training.Be responsible and accountable for service delivery to clients/patients.Assess and develop care plans for complex needs, including chronic, acute, and palliative care within current competencies; recognise limits and seek advice when necessary; continuously evaluate outcomes.Initiate referrals to other health professionals and services as needed.Provide patients and relatives with information and education to support informed choices, dignity, independence, and quality of life.Ensure practice is underpinned by research, evidence-based practice, literature, and peer review.Why NELFT?
