Consultant Psychiatrist

We are seeking experienced Consultant Psychiatrists to join our nationwide expert panel at RIMA Medicals. The role focuses on conducting medico-legal psychiatric assessments for personal injury clients, preparing evidence-based reports, and providing professional opinion to support solicitors, agencies, and insurers. This flexible position offers opportunities for both remote and face-to-face assessments.

Responsibilities

Conduct psychiatric assessments of personal injury claimants.

Evaluate psychological impact following road traffic accidents, workplace accidents, assaults, and other traumatic events.

Prepare clear, court-compliant medico-legal reports.

Provide expert opinion on diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment needs (including CBT, EMDR, or pharmacological interventions).

Collaborate with solicitors, medico-legal agencies, and healthcare professionals.

Maintain high-quality documentation and meet agreed turnaround times.

Attend multidisciplinary meetings or court hearings when required.

Qualifications

Medical Degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent).

GMC Registration with licence to practise.

Completed higher specialist training in Psychiatry.

CCT or equivalent in Psychiatry.

Section 12 approval (desirable, not essential).

Key Skills

Ability to write clear, objective, and legally sound reports.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Professional integrity and attention to detail.

Ability to work flexibly and independently.

Preferred Experience

Prior medico-legal reporting experience (training available if required).

Experience in treating or assessing trauma, PTSD, anxiety, or depression following accidents.
