Consultant Psychiatrist in Adult Learning Disability

This is a replacement post for a Consultant Psychiatrist, based in the Adult Learning Disability Community Team at North Moor House, Northallerton. The post covers Hambleton and Richmondshire District and Botton Village, with commissioning by the Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership.Referrals are received in each locality; teams operate a local duty system and triage referrals, providing advice and support to referrers. The team collaborates with Primary Care, Local Authority and voluntary sector partners.Responsibilities
The postholder’s cases have a keyworker from the team (usually a community nurse).Provide outpatient clinics at North Moor House and undertake home visits as needed.Liaise with local mental health, CYPS, Older People services and North Yorkshire Social Services; maintain regular liaison with Acute Liaison Team for South Tees Hospitals and GP practices.Inpatient treatment where appropriate under Greenlight arrangements; access to Learning Disability Assessment and Treatment beds at Bankfields Court, Middlesbrough (TEWV services).Clinical duties include working within a biopyschosocial framework and contributing to multidisciplinary team activities and service development.About us

EssentialMB BS or equivalent medical qualification; Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at appointment.Clinical knowledge and skills in psychiatry with excellent communication and ability to manage clinical complexity; ability to meet duties under MHA and MCA.Describe your clinical experience relevant to this job role.DesirableMRCPsych or equivalent; Approved Clinician Status and Section 12 Status (or ability to achieve within 3 months); additional qualifications in medical education, clinical research or management.Experience in teaching and training, research or service evaluation, and leadership outside the multidisciplinary team.Other information
