Consultant Psychiatrist - General Adult Inpatient, Barrow in Furness

OverviewConsultant Psychiatrist - General Adult Psychiatry, Inpatients (10PA). We are recruiting a substantive Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Dova Unit at Furness General Hospital, Barrow. The post is full time (10PA). The role includes eligibility for a Recruitment and Retention Premia of £40k payable on commencement of employment; eligibility criteria apply. Staff currently employed by the Trust would not be eligible for the premia.

ResponsibilitiesThe postholder will participate on the Consultant On Call rota (0.5 PA + 5% supplement). The Dova unit is an 18 bedded mixed gender ward with an older adults ward. The Dane Garth unit has resident doctor posts and 2.5 WTE resident doctors supporting ward duties, along with input from an SAS colleague. There is an active monthly peer group meeting of medical colleagues within the Cumbria locality. The post holder will work with a multidisciplinary team including matron, ward manager, clinical leads, nursing staff, occupational therapy, HCA and recovery support staff.

Qualifications and Requirements

MBBS or equivalent

Full GMC registration and Licence to Practise

On GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months

Section 12 approved or within 3 months

AC status or within 3 months
