Consultant Interventional Cardiologist

Overview
This is a substantive post to primarily support the expansion of the structural and coronary interventions at Trent Cardiac Centre (TCC). We are looking for a talented and dynamic individual to fill this new post within the Cardiology Department at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH), primarily to further expand the TAVI and structural service as well as contributing to the coronary service and general cardiology. There is also the expectation that the successful candidate will contribute to General Medicine flow with 0.5 PA per week on average.The post holder will participate fully in the department\''s activities, including inpatient and outpatient work. A full range of cardiology emergency and elective patients are admitted to NUH and the appointee will be responsible for the management of those patients admitted under his/her care irrespective of sub-speciality.Responsibilities
Work with consultant colleagues to provide a comprehensive elective and emergency Cardiology service including reciprocal cover for periods of leave. Appointee will have continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge.This appointment has a Structural/PCI sub-speciality focus and will contribute to elective and non-elective structural and coronary intervention procedures.Help maintain the volume of in-patient flow with Acute Coronary Syndromes (ACS) with a view to patients achieving access to angiography and PCI within 72 hours of admission.Contribute to combined cardiac and cardiac surgical MDT case meetings at City Hospital. There will be an agreed and equitable share of facilities and support (including junior and middle grade medical staff) with the other consultants in cardiology.Context and Environment
