We are looking to recruit to a whole-time Consultant Neurologist to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, with outpatient clinics at Sheffield and Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the jobAppointments are made to the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the person appointed is required to be sufficiently flexible to undertake their main clinical duties at any of the sites within the Region and/or to change their base hospital.
The appointee, together with consultant colleagues, will be responsible for the provision of adult neurological services to Barnsley and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. The appointee will be expected to contribute to the routine outpatient general neurological workload, provide a ward liaison service at Barnsley Hospital, as well as general and sub-specialty clinics in Sheffield at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and the Northern General Hospital.
The person appointed will be required to cover for colleagues during periods of absence. They will have continuing responsibility for patients in their care and the proper functioning of the Department.

Person SpecificationQualifications
Registered with the GMC with a licence to practice.
Name on the specialist register for Neurology or eligible within 6 months of the date of the interview. If an applicant is UK trained, they must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
MRCP or Equivalent
Higher Degree
Further qualifications in research methods, teaching and/or management
Distinctions, prizes, awards, scholarships
Personal attributes
Good oral and written communication skills
Demonstrates behaviour consistent with PROUD values (see appendix)

Clinical governance and audit
Experience in performing clinical audit
Completion and publication of a substantive audit project or service improvement project
