The Assertive Outreach Team (AOT) aims to provide a more enhanced service for people diagnosed with serious mental illness and to deliver evidence-based interventions and care whilst increasing service user and carer satisfaction. AOT adopts an assertive and proactive way of working, utilising a whole-team approach to provide continuity of care and encourage creativity in engagement and positive risk taking. The AO multidisciplinary team provides most interventions from within the team and delivers care wherever is required and most appropriate.Main duties of the job
The postholder will provide clinical leadership for the multidisciplinary team. They will work with the team manager to ensure responsive, excellent and safe care is provided that supports the whole healthcare system. EssentialFully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment. Included on the GMC Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry OR within six months. Approved clinician status.Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of eligibility.Approved Clinician status AND Approved under S12 of the UK Mental Health Act (1983), or able to achieve these within 3 months of appointment.Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent qualification (in accordance with Royal College of Psychiatrists guidelines).DesirableQualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management. Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent qualification (in accordance with Royal College of Psychiatrists guidelines). Experience in other relevant specialties such as inpatient, liaison psychiatry, home treatment or addictions.In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service.
