Consultant Gastroenterologist Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our dynamic team at Northampton General Hospital. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a thriving gastroenterology department, providing expert care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders. As a Consultant Gastroenterologist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality clinical services, participating in multidisciplinary team meetings, and contributing to the ongoing development of gastroenterology services within the Trust. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive gastroenterology services, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with gastrointestinal disorders. Perform endoscopic procedures, such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and ERCP, to a high standard. Participate in on-call rotas, providing emergency gastroenterology care as required. Engage in clinical governance activities, including audit, research, and quality improvement projects. Contribute to the training and development of junior doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals. Attend and actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical governance meetings. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with Trust policies.
