Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist Part Time

Job Title: Consultant PsychiatristService Line: Male Low SecureProfessionally Accountable to: Medical DirectorManagerially Responsible to: Hospital Manager We are seeking an experienced part-time / any 3 days per week Forensic Consultant Psychiatrist who will work at Cygnet Hospital Maidstone and provide senior medical cover on Saltwood Ward, our 16 bed low secure service for men with enduring mental illness, including those with a personality disorder. The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician and will oversee and maintain the care of all ward inpatients as required and will also have responsibility for auditing the medical services rendered at the ward and ensuring their good quality in accordance to GMC standards of good medical practice and other relevant professional guidelines. Saltwood Ward provides a 16 bed low secure service for men with enduring mental illness, including those with a personality disorder at our hospital in Kent, Cygnet Hospital Maidstone. Our male high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service, Kingswood Ward at Cygnet Hospital Maidstone, provides a pathway for men from Saltwood Ward requiring a stepdown to a lower level of security. The multidisciplinary team is integrated and work as one, sharing expertise. The Trust also has extensive community links which can be particularly helpful for service users moving towards discharge, thus helping to keep lengths of stay to a minimum.
