Construction Underwriter

AS PART OF OUR CLIENTS EXPANSION, WE ARE NOW LOOKING FOR 2 CONSTRUCTION UNDERWRITERS, EITHER 1 SENIOR AND 1 JUNIOR, OR 2 MID LEVEL. Purpose of Role/Job Overview Construction / Liability Underwriter writing wages and turnover business on a presentation basis Underwriting a high volume of wages and turnover business, average premium is circa £3,000 with a potential to write up to a premium of £100,000 Ability to interpret policy / endorsement wordings and have experience in writing own or modifying existing wordings Once trained it is expected that the individual will be autonomous, working to achieve personal new business targets Minimum of 3 years'' experience within construction / liability Determine policy terms and calculating premiums in line with both in-house authority limits and insurer binding authority agreements Demonstrating your contribution to loss ratio control by effectively adhering to Company''s underwriting controls. To positively reinforce and display values and to actively drive the business forward in achieving its objectives. Experience in writing high risk and hard to place business is desired but not necessary Existing broker relationships that would support in this role is desired, but again not necessary Key Accountabilities Meeting and where possible, exceeding brokers service levels and expectations.
