Construction UK Buyer

MERITUS are recruiting for a Buildings & Construction UK Buyer to join our major aviation client on an initial 12 month contract from their site in Broughton.

CONSTRUCTION UK BUYER - INSIDE IR35 - -44 PER HOUR - 12 MONTHS - BROUGHTON, FLINTSHIRE - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement procurement strategies aligned with business needs and project requirements.

• Lead procurement projects and tenders with multi-divisional and international scope.

• Develop and maintain an effective supplier base to support long-term strategic objectives.

• Negotiate, establish, and manage national and international contracts.

• Ensure supplier deliverables meet contractual requirements on cost, time, and quality.

• Manage supplier relationships, performance reviews, and risk mitigation.

• Contribute to savings initiatives through demand management, specification optimisation, and process standardisation.

• Support the adoption of innovative procurement tools (e.g., e-procurement, e-catalogues).

• Provide guidance to internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Strong background in procurement, supplier management, and contract negotiation.

• Experience in delivering procurement projects across multiple business units.

• Knowledge of supplier performance management and recovery planning.

• Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills.

• Analytical approach with experience in benchmarking, costing, and "make or buy" analysis.

• Reports into the Buildings & Construction Procurement Management team.

• No direct reports.
